Susanna Negovan, editor of Michigan Avenue magazine, has joined Wrapports LLC, owner of the Chicago Sun-Times, to lead the development of several new projects, CEO Timothy P. Knight announced Wednesday.
Before joining the Chicago luxury magazine in 2008, Negovan was a freelance columnist for the Sun-Times and penned the society page “Susanna’s Night Out.”
“Susanna is a household name in Chicago and is a well-known media personality in our city,” Knight said. “She brings to Wrapports a multi-dimensional perspective and a proven expertise in developing and launching new, dynamic media products. We are thrilled to have her on our team.”
Negovan said she will be working on a variety of projects for the newspaper group’s print and digital products “on topics that play to my strengths.”
“The Wrapports team’s strategy for digital and new market growth is a game-changer,” Negovan said. “I am beyond excited to join the company at this early stage to participate in the creation of a very cool new venture.”
The 65,000-circulation Michigan Avenue magazine is owned by New York-based Niche Media.
Negovan said that while she enjoyed working at the luxury magazine, which she launched, she looks forward to working with the owner of the Sun-Times again.
“I love the idea of being able to reach a much broader cross-section of Chicago in a bigger way.”
Wrapports, a technology-driven media holding company, acquired Sun-Times Media, publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times and more than 40 other media properties, in 2011.
