The “Home Alone” home has been sold.

The gigantic Georgian in Winnetka that had a starring role in the 1990 comedy “Home Alone,” starring Macaulay Culkin, was sold for $1.585 million, said Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, which had the listing.

The brokerage said the sale closed Thursday. The buyer was not immediately identified.

The home at 671 Lincoln hit the market last May with owners John Abendshien, president of a health-care consultancy, and his wife Cynthia asking for $2.4 million.

The Abendshiens hadn’t owned the home for long when the production company of the late North Shore resident John Hughes came looking to use it for the movie. They said they ceded most of the house to film crews for nearly six months and spent that time camped out in the master suite.

The house has 14 rooms, including four bedrooms, and it sits on a half-acre lot.

“Home Alone” was about a boy mistakenly left behind when his family goes away on vacation. The boy, played by Culkin, outwits inept burglars who try to rob the place.
