ArcelorMittal doesn’t plan on letting a possible blizzard shut its Indiana plants down. A spokesperson for the company said its plants are open every hour of every day of the year and that it doesn’t think any weather events would affect its operations.
“Our employees are well-versed and experienced in managing our operations during harsh weather conditions, and we have the necessary processes in place to do so safely,” the spokesperson said.
Employees at its Indiana Harbor and Burns Harbor plants are urged to pay attention to the weather and to contact supervisors with travel problems.
A spokesman for U.S. Steel could not be reached for comment.
