INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana General Assembly took a day off Tuesday after treacherous, icy weather conditions descended on the state capital.
Neither the House of Representatives nor the Senate planned to convene or hold committee hearings Tuesday. State employees were on the job, though.
The storm delayed, among other activity, a meeting of Rep. Chet Dobis’ committee on government reduction. The Merrillville Democrat planned to hear suggestions for streamlining government from the governor’s staff and the Department of Local Government Finance.
Neither chamber was scheduled to convene again until Thursday, but several committee hearings are scheduled for Wednesday. There’s been no word on whether there will be further delays.
