AWARD-WINNING PUBLICATIONS
Pioneer Press, including The Doings, is the most honored community newspaper group in Illinois and among the top award winners for editorial quality in the county. This year Pioneer Press was presented with 32 awards in a variety of categories in the Prestigious Suburban Newspapers of America national contest for work done in 2007. These awards cited Pioneer's excellence in virtually every aspect of community journalism from writing to photography to editing to design. In the Illinois Press Association's state-wide competition the Pioneer Press group collected another 32 honors. In all, Pioneer's editorial department collected more than 70 awards for work done in 2007. The judges in these annual competitions are some of the most respected industry professionals in the country. Their insights and years of experience make winning these awards a reflection on the quality of our publications.
