Madigan, Cullerton agree to Quinn's plan for pension reform panel

Legislative leaders Monday agreed to Gov. Pat Quinn's plan for a joint House-Senate conference committee to tackle the state's pension crisis, only days after House Speaker Michael Madigan called the idea "an effort by the governor to distance himself from the process."
