Dog ties up Dan Ryan during rush

Drivers on the Dan Ryan Expressway saw an odd sight Thursday morning — a dog trying to cross the expressway just south of downtown.
Odder still, the pooch either made it safely across or was grabbed by a driver and taken out of harm’s way by about 9 a.m., according to the Illinois State Police.
Drivers in both directions of the expressway had been stopping or swerving to avoid hitting the black-and-white dog during the morning rush hour.
