A man is in custody for allegedly using a sawed-off shotgun to rob several people early Saturday near CTA Red Line stations in the Rogers Park and Lake View neighborhoods, officials said.
In the first robbery, the suspect was standing on the platform at the Loyola Red Line station in the 1200 block of West Loyola when he allegedly pulled the sawed-off shotgun out of a backpack and demanded a cell phone from a 22-year-old man, police said.
The second attack happened in the 3900 block of North Sheridan near the Sheridan Red Line station, where the man allegedly robbed three people — a 20-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, police said.
