Driver flees after Cal-Sag Channel crash; 2 hospitalized

Police Thursday searched for the driver of a minivan that crashed into the Cal-Sag Channel in south suburban Dolton.
Two of the five passengers rescued from the waters were hospitalized at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Dolton Fire Chief Jerry McCullough said.
The driver fled the scene before emergency workers arrived shortly after 3 a.m. at East 147th and Wentworth, authorities said.
The gray minivan veered off the road and into a ditch before crashing into the channel, McCullough said.
