The show might have gone well, but Lollapalooza ended on a low note for one band.
The Portland, Oregon-based band Portugal. The Man performed at the music festival in Grant Park on Sunday. On Monday, though, the band reported on its Facebook and Twitter pages that its van and trailer, as well as all the gear inside, had been stolen from a garage at Lollapalooza.
On Tuesday morning, the band reported that the van and trailer had been recovered, empty. Portugal. The Man released a list of the equipment that had been in the van and trailer. The hope was that fans and law enforcement could let area pawn shops know and prevent thieves from re-selling the band’s equipment. The band wants fans to contact police if they see any of the stolen gear.
The stolen items, according to a list included on the band’s Twitter site, includes: nine guitars, drums and cymbals, two Roland keyboards, a Hammmond organ, a Moog synthesizer, a 160GB iPod, various microphones, speakers and amps.
The band is scheduled to return to Chicago on Oct. 15 for a show at the Metro.
