Police were questioning a person of interest Monday in the death of 6-year-old Arianna Gibson, who was fatally shot in the living room of an Englewood neighborhood home, according to a law enforcement source.
The man was picked up early Monday in the 7100 block of South Shore Drive and no charges had been filed, according to the source.
Arianna and two teens — a girl and boy each 17 — were shot about 6 a.m. Sunday while in the living room of a home in the 7400 block of South Sangamon when someone fired shots through a window, hitting all three and killing Arianna.
The 17-year-old boy shot in the attack was the alleged target of the gunman and that victim picked the alleged shooter out of a lineup, according to the source.
The victim knew the shooter and where they lived, according to the source.
Other suspects who were with the alleged gunman were not in custody Monday.
