Two fighter jets intercepted a small plane in a restricted area Wednesday during President Barack Obama’s visit to Chicago, officials said.
The F-16 jets intercepted the Kitfox Model 2 aircraft at 5:34 p.m. and escorted the plane back to Mill Rose Farm Airport in South Barrington, said Lt. Col. Michael Humphreys of North American Aerospace Defense Command.
The woman pilot did not respond to communications, officials said. She was not taken into custody, officials said.
