Casey Anthony and her advisers are putting a lot of thought into her release from prison Wednesday.

A source close to the Anthony team shared this with me Monday:

† The mother of the slain Caylee reportedly is considering various disguises she can easily employ — to realistically alter her appearance. “There even have been discussions about cosmetic surgery, but Casey has rejected that out of hand,” said the Anthony insider, who says she believes “Casey really does not completely understand the depth of hatred out there.

“She’s fully aware of the various death threats, of course, but she thinks that’s isolated to relatively few nutcases,” added the source, who is deeply worried about Anthony’s well-being.

† Once Anthony reaches the still-secret location where she will live (known to a handful of people — but not my source) she is expected to live under a pseudonym, “almost as if she was living in a witness protection-like program,” to avoid being harassed.

† While many have said they would never buy an Anthony-authored book about her experience, she is fielding a lot of publishing offers — as well as TV and film pitches from all over the world.

ROYAL WRAP-UP: According to a guest at the big BAFTA bash in L.A. Saturday, Prince William’s bride Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, made it clear she is eager to return to the United States, mentioning New York, Washington, the Rocky Mountain states and Chicago (!!!) as places she hopes to visit on a future trip.

GREAT IDEA: Kudos to megastar Josh Groban for providing a grant from his Find Your Light Foundation to the Albany Park Theater Project to help enrich the cultural lives of young people here. This is just the third non-profit donation Groban has made to an arts organization during his “Straight to You” tour — which hits town Wednesday for a United Center concert.

BIRTHDAY GIRL: Even though Gibsons’ savvy gatekeeper Kathy O’Malley has been recuperating from a serious boating accident — requiring a ton of stitches — the popular Chicago nightlife mainstay is well on the mend and promises to join an expected 500 guests at the big birthday bash for her tonight at Moe’s Cantina, organized by B.J. Murray, Richie “Turtle” Gregorian and Kathy’s Gibsons pals.

HAMPTONS HAPPENINGS: As usual, spending a weekend in Long Island’s tony Hamptons makes star-watching pretty easy. While guesting with Manhattan Realtor-to-the-stars Robby Browne, I watched the fancy crowd at Bridgehampton’s Pierre’s eatery pretend not to notice Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick dining with pals. … Lorraine Bracco, who hosted a beautiful Saturday night fete for friends — including Joy Behar and Bob Balaban — at her Bridgehampton home, clearly was thrilled by the good reviews for the launch of the second season of “Rizzoli & Isles,” in which she plays Angie Harmon’s mom.

† In Manhattan proper, veteran Chicago publicist Jay Kelly got a kick out of watching Daniel Radcliffe’s “Harry Potter” co-stars Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis cheer Radcliffe on during a Broadway performance of “How to Succeed in Business With Really Trying.” … Lewis, best known for playing Neville Longbottom in the eight “Potter” flicks, will be in town Friday to promote the opening of “Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” the final movie in the long-running mega-hit saga.

SEEN ON THE SCENE: Our Town has had celebs dining and dishing all over the place the past few days. Dave Matthews grabbed 10 Chicago-style hot dogs to go at America’s Dog, while some of his bandmates — plus O.A.R. — hung out at Public House and Matthews’ saxman Jeff Coffin was seen in the bar at Gibsons. … The Bulls’ Omer Asik made the scene on the Tavern on Rush’s busy patio. … While in town to play the Sox, Twins pitchers Matt Capps, Phil Dumatrait and Anthony Swarzak chowed down at Harry Caray’s on Kinzie. … Michelle Williams dined at Trattoria Gianni, before heading across the street to catch a Steppenwolf performance. … Billy Corgan was caught late-lunching at Mercadito on West Kinzie. … The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne got his art fix at the Mark Bedford exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art. … Ryan Cabrera dined at Sunda with Billy Dec before catching up with Joey Fatone over a game of pool at Rockit. … Kid Cudi chilled out at the Underground over the weekend while fellow rapper Fabolous checked out Hub 51. … Bears fans were happy to see Greg Olsen, Matt Forte, the 76ers’ Andre Iguodala and the Lions’ Drew Stanton partying hearty at Studio Paris.
