There were smiles at clerks’ offices throughout the state as people got their civil unions licenses Wednesday.
But just in case a union doesn’t work out — Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown is ready.
“Of course, we wish everyone joined together in a civil union a long and happy life together, but if there is a need for a dissolution, then we are ready with the necessary court forms,” Brown said in a statement.
Forms for dissolution of civil unions are available in the Domestic Relations Division of the Clerk’s Office. Dissolution cases will be heard in the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court, she said.
