Urologist screams at staff, displays ‘offensive’ images: lawsuit

An Evanston urology office and one of its employees have asked a judge to intervene and evict a doctor who allegedly screams at his staff, steals other doctors’ supplies, and insists on displaying pictures of male genitalia for everyone to see.

Greater Chicago Urology LLC, located at 800 Austin St. in Evanston, claims Dr. Leon Lome’s “intentional outbursts and fits of anger” have caused the office to lose patients and have created a hostile workplace, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in Cook County Circuit Court.

Lome takes medical supplies that belongs to the office at large, shouts at employees in front of patients, and throws patients’ prescriptions on the floor in front of the patients, the suit states.

He has also insisted on displaying a calendar with images of male genitalia in the common area of the office despite being asked to remove it, the suit alleges.

The four-count suit alleges conversion, torturous interference with an advantageous business relationship, and forcible detainer, on behalf of Greater Chicago Urology.

A fourth count of intentional infliction of emotional distress is charged by employee Judith Cohen, who says she was uncomfortable with the doctor’s screaming and the ‘offensive’ public images of genitals.

The plaintiffs are asking for punitive damages and to have Lome evicted.

Lome said Friday evening he was unaware of the lawsuit and declined comment.
