Derrick Rose gets first Sports Illustrated cover
STAFF REPORT
Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose appears on his first Sports Illustrated cover this week. The last Bulls player to appear on the cover was Michael Jordan on Jan. 25, 1999.
Bulls star Derrick Rose will be on the April 18 Sports Illustrated cover, a first for the player many consider to be the NBA’s leading MVP candidate.
D-Rose becomes the first Bull to grace the cover since Michael Jordan on Jan. 25, 1999.
The cover story talks about how Rose leads a growing trend in the NBA where teams are generating their offense from the perimeter rather than the post.
Let’s hope Rose avoids the dreaded SI cover jinx, the notion that bad luck befalls cover athletes. It didn’t seem to affect Jordan during his record 49 appearances.
