Girl, 14, shot in the back in Austin
A 14-year-old girl was shot in the back after she got caught in an argument on an Austin street on the West Side early Saturday.
She was standing with a group of people at 2:50 a.m. in the 5100 block of West Crystal when an argument broke out between that group and another group, police said.
Someone took out a handgun and fired, striking the girl once in the back. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, police said. A description of the offender was not available, and no one was in custody Saturday evening.
