Police Blotter . . .

A predator police patrol?????

Sneed hears the investigation of Chicago police officers stemming from an incident last week involving a 22-year old woman claiming she was sexually assaulted by two cops after being picked up in their squad car — is enlarging.

Sneed is told nearly a half-dozen women have either come forward or are being interviewed about allegations of sexual assault involving two Town Hall police officers — and a third officer, who works with the men on the same over night shift, has also been relieved of his police powers for “misconduct.”

“It looks like the police department may be dealing with police predators and a heavy lid has been placed on leaks to the press on what is becoming a high profile case,” said a Sneed source.

“The police department command staff is taking this case very seriously and more than four women are talking about their experiences with these police officers,” said the source, who also stated sexual assault complaints had been reported against at least two of these men in the past by several women.

†All three police officers have been stripped of their police powers and charges against at least two of them may be forthcoming by the end of this week pending the conclusion of a forensic investigation, the source added.

†The probe began last Wednesday when a 22-year-old woman told police she wound up having sex with one of two cops who offered her a ride home in their marked Tahoe SUV. She also told police she played strip poker and had sex with an officer in her Rogers Park apartment because she was afraid to refuse. Police were summoned by a neighbor who spotted the woman running from her apartment screaming.

Sneed is also told one of the police officers may be on a videotape buying booze at a liquor store while en route to drive the alleged victim home.

†The third Town Hall District officer, who has not been implicated in last Wednesday’s sexual assault allegation, works in the same overnight unit with the two cops under criminal investigation for the assault — and was the recipient of a previous complaint by another woman — when he was partnering with one of the officers involved with Wednesday’s incident.

Stay tuned.

$$$$$ . . .

Whoaaaa! Former State Sen. Roger Keats who made headlines by announcing recently he was pulling up stakes in Wilmette and moving to Texas because of our state’s skyrocketing taxes, is smokin’ hot in the Lone Star state!

†To wit: Sneed is told Keats, who is moving to Dripping Springs, Texas, because life there is easier on the pocketbook, got a personal phone call from Texas Gov. Rick Perry welcoming Keats to the Lone Star State and inviting him and his wife, Tina, to be his guests at the April 18 luncheon of the Texas Policy Foundation in Austin.

†The upshot: The Keats crew will be sitting at the head table with Perry and Dr. Arthur “The Laffer Curve” Laffer, a member of President Ronald Reagan’s economic policy board, who will be speaking at the luncheon.

Sports shorts . . .

Former Chicago Blackhawk Chris Chelios made a 45 foot putt on the 18th hole at the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational in Las Vegas last week — and then did a cannonball jump into a nearby lake.

Royal Rantings . . .

Just in time for the wedding! How’s this for a piece of marital memorabilia: the childhood home of Kate Middleton, who will be marrying England’s Prince William at the end of the month, is being sold. Described as a Victorian villa where Middleton lived until she was 13, the house is now on the market for nearly $750,000.

†Relate’em: Now comes word Middleton, whose ancestry has been parsed and published, is a distant cousin to legendary U.S. Gen. George S. “Blood & Guts” Patton and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres. There ya go.

Sneedlings . . .

Congratulations to Chicago Realtor Christopher McComas, son of journalist Mary Laney, and fiancee Natalie Trongeau on their recent engagement . . . Today’s birthdays: Michael Moriarty, 70; Matt Rodriguez, 75; Colin Powell, 74 and Pat Brickhouse, ageless and priceless.
