No question about it, Charlie Sheen thinks Our Town is one “Winning” place.
As the actor shared with several people Sunday night, Chicago’s welcoming mood — coming on the heels of the disastrous Detroit launch of his live tour — gave him a huge psychological boost.
“It was all he could talk about on the flight back to L.A.,” said a Sheen insider Monday. “He even was talking about wanting to come back to Chicago to do a film or TV project — just so he could spend more time there.”
That mood mirrored Sheen’s post-show partying at Enclave in the wee hours Monday. After his Chicago Theatre gig, the actor arrived around midnight and stayed until nearly 1:30 a.m., when he flew to Los Angeles to further tweak his show before the tour resumes Thursday in Cleveland.
Spies at Enclave confirm Sheen didn’t drink at all and was joined by an entourage that included actor Simon Rex, his tour manager Joey Scoleri, his two “goddesses” and a couple of ladies body-painted as tigers — an homage to his “Tiger’s Blood” mantra.
† Sheen graciously posed for photos with several Enclave VIPs — some who flew in from Miami, Las Vegas, L.A. and Phoenix, and who paid up to $20,000 (!!) just to snare a table near the controversial star.
† Clearly noting his national tour was a work in progress, Sheen told the Enclave crowd that performing before a live audience is an evolutionary process.
† Meanwhile, L.A. sources close to Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards and soon-to-be-ex Brooke Mueller tell me the two women both have arranged for tickets to be bought for all of Sheen’s shows so their personal spies can record the actor’s comments about them — in case those rants are needed for further legal proceedings.
† For those still wanting more of Sheen — and soon — tune in to Drew Carey’s “Improv-a-Ganza” at 7 and 10 p.m. next Tuesday, April 12, on GSN — and catch the ex-“Two and a Half Men” star making an appearance on that episode.
BACK TOGETHER? No comment from the principals, but folks close to estranged couple Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson say the duo are not so estranged these days.
Along with several very public sightings of Wentz and Simpson (who filed for divorce from the Fall Out Boy mainstay in February), there are indications that the couple’s coziness is about much more than just getting together in their roles as parents to young son Bronx.
† Maybe the third time will be the charm for on-again-off-again lovers Miley Cyrus and ex-co-star Liam Hemsworth. The Aussie actor is expected to join Miley on her upcoming Australian tour, and they have been seen a lot together the past couple of weeks around Hollywood.
ON A ROLE: No word whether this will ever happen, but Lindsay Lohan is being mentioned for the role of Sharon Tate in a proposed Charles Manson flick that “Monster” producer Brad Wyman is touting — plus LiLo is said to be anxious to land a part as a villainess in the “Superman” flick, filming here this summer.
GANGING UP: The real estate and financial pros attending the U.S. Foreclosure Institute’s training class Thursday at the Hotel Indigo in Palatine will have an entertaining break — thanks to a trio of former “Sopranos” co-stars. Vincent Pastore (“Salvatore Bonpensiero”), Tony Darrow (“Larry Boy Barese”) and Arthur Nascarella (“Carlo Gervasi”) will be on hand to add a bit of levity to the event.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: John Cusack’s fans spied the Evanston native hangin’ at Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap — while Kerry Wood got his barbecue fix at Chicago Q. … After attending the preview event of Bravo’s upcoming season at Girl & the Goat, reality queen Bethenny Frankel zipped over to Hub 51 for a late dinner. … Giuliana and Bill Rancic taped the first episode of the fourth season of their Style channel series at Carmine’s on Rush — set to air in mid-July. …. I can’t imagine a better place to celebrate National Cheese Fondue Day next Monday than Our Town’s own fondue mecca, Geja’s Cafe — which not surprisingly will toast the event for a full week, Sunday through April 17. Mention the fondue week celebration and you’ll get a complimentary appetizer. … LeAnn Rimes is nothing if not consistent. In town, joining beau Eddie Cibrian while he films the TV pilot for “Playboy,” the singer and actress again lunched at LeColonial — drinking Sauvignon Blanc and eating the goi cuon and goi bo — the exact menu she ordered twice before. ... In town for Tuesday’s game against the Bulls, Phoenix Suns players Hakim Warrick and Josh Childress chowed down at Gibsons Monday.
