Illinois House passes income tax hike
The Illinois House just passed a boost in the state income tax by a razor thin 60-57 vote, handing Gov. Quinn a major legislative victory that will help erase part of the state’s expected $15 billion deficit. The measure now moves to the state Senate, which could take it up later tonight.
