Oh, baby! Even though the new year is mere minutes old, a west suburban hospital is claiming the Chicago area’s first baby of 2011 was born there just one second past midnight.

Baby Alejandra Maya Arroyo was born at one second past midnight at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, hospital officials said in a release.

The bouncing baby girl weighed in at 5 pounds, 11 ounces and is 18 inches long, the release said. Parents Rosalinda Arroyo, 35, and Alejandro Arroyo, 40, have been married for 19 years.

This is the fourth child for the couple, who are from west suburban Cicero.
