CTA train stalls at Clark/Lake; service restored but Loop elevated routes delayed

Updated: September 5, 2014 11:21AM

The Chicago Transit Authority is reporting major delays on all elevated trains in the Loop.

A Purple Line train was stalled near Clark and Lake, causing delays on the Orange, Green, Pink, Purple and Brown lines.

The train was reported as experiencing mechanical problems at 9:04 a.m. and was stuck there for 18 minutes, CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said.

Trains are moving again, but residual delays on all those routes have the CTA urging commuters to consider alternatives.
