Four family members were found shot to death Saturday evening in their home in west suburban Elmhurst, police said.
Officers making a “well-being check” at the home in the 600 block of Chatham about 6:45 p.m. Saturday found four family members dead with gunshot wounds, according to a statement from Elmhurst police.
Police identified the deceased early Sunday as Francis and Joan Stack, both 82; Francis Stack Jr., 48; and Mary Stack, 57. All four lived in the home where they were found shot to death, police said.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said. Autopsies were scheduled for Sunday.
Their exact relationships weren’t identified by police.
Police officers cordoned off the entire tree-lined block with yellow tape. Late Saturday night, investigators could be seen coming into and out of the house.
“There is no immediate threat or danger to others at this time,” police said in the statement.
