A Chicago man was charged with killing a kitten after he was accused of throwing it into the air Friday evening.
Lamar Rogers, 43, of the 6400 block of South Vernon Avenue, faces one felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals.
Prosecutors said Rogers picked up the kitten and threw it up in the air. It went as high as a third-floor balcony before it fell to its death in the backyard of an apartment building in the same block, prosecutors said.
A neighbor saw it happen and called police.
Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. ordered Rogers held on $100,000 bail.
