Lura Lynn Ryan, wife of jailed former Gov. George Ryan, has been diagnosed with a very aggressive lung cancer and given a prognosis of three to six months to live, according to former Gov. Jim Thompson, Ryan’s attorney.
As a result of the prognosis, Thompson has filed a motion seeking bail for Ryan, who is serving an eight year federal prison sentence in Terre Haute, Ind. “We are asking (U.S. District Court) Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer for a prompt answer on our earlier request for George’s bail,” said Thompson.
