Blue Line service downtown delayed by power outage near LaSalle

Updated: June 25, 2014 9:34AM

CTA Blue Line trains are experiencing major delays Wednesday morning in the Loop due to a power outage near the LaSalle station.

Trains are running in both directions on the same track between the LaSalle and Western stations, according to the CTA’s website. The power outage is near the LaSalle station.

Customers should board all trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform at all stations between LaSalle and Western, according to the CTA.

Commuters can also consider using the No. 36 Broadway, 37 Sedgwick, 7 Harrison, 126 Jackson and 12 Roosevelt buses as an alternative.

A CTA spokeswoman could not immediately say when normal service is expected to resume.

Crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible, but commuters should allow extra travel time.
