Learn Charter School students, Briana Williams, 11 years old, and Taaliya Lee, 13 years old, listened to the presentation. Chancellor Paula Allen-Meares of the University of Illinois at Chicago joined community representatives to announce a West Side site added to UICĂ•s bid for the Obama Presidential Library. Community partners included State Sen. Patricia Van Pelt, State Rep. Arthur L. Turner Jr., Cook County Commissioner Robert Steele; Michael Pagano, dean, UIC College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs; Dr. Robert Winn, UI Health associate vice president for community-based practice; community stakeholders; and students from Learn Charter School.UIC.
