The rapper Chief Keef was evicted Tuesday from the Highland Park home he was renting, the lawyer representing the landlord said.

A Lake County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman said officers at 10 a.m. conducted an eviction and a safety search for occupants of the residence at the home the rapper rented in the 1800 block of Cooper Lane.

Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, had owed about four months of rent and had agreed to pay the landlord $11,300, the attorney, Robert Kahn said.

“He said he was going to pay him and he didn’t,” Kahn said.

A lawyer for the rapper did not respond to a request for comment.

The young rapper has had his share of recent troubles.

In March he was accused of driving under the influence of marijuana in Highland Park. He has pleaded not guilty.

Before that, he spent time in California serving a 90-day, court-mandated rehab sentence after he pleaded guilty last year to testing positive for drugs while on probation.

Last year, among his many run-ins with police, the rapper pleaded guilty to speeding 40 mph over the limit.

There’s also multiple paternity cases filed against him.
