3 dead, 16 wounded in weekend shootings across Chicago

Three people have been killed and 16 others wounded in shootings across the city of Chicago since Friday evening.

Here’s a rundown of the killings, according to the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office:

◆ At 9:25 p.m. Saturday, a 36-year-old man was shot in the chest multiple times in the 4600 block of West Jackson Boulevard on the city’s West Side. The man, whose name wasn’t immediately released, was dead at the scene.

◆ About 1:30 a.m. Saturday, officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 5600 block of South Wabash Avenue found 18-year-old Brian Weekly and a 20-year-old man, both of whom had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were unresponsive in an alley. Weekly, of the 1400 block of West 79th Street, was dead at the scene. The 20-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

◆ Around 10:45 p.m. Friday, a 22-year-old woman was shot to death in West Garfield Park. Carnesha Fort was shot multiple times near her home in the 100 block of North Keeler Avenue. She died at Mount Sinai Hospital later Friday. Police said the shooting may have been domestic-related.
