A South Side man was ordered held Saturday on $300,000 bail, charged with attempting to sexually assault a 19-year-old woman after following her off a CTA Blue Line train early Tuesday.

Leverne Burnette, 21, of the 4300 block of South Indiana Avenue, turned himself in to the police Friday night and was charged with aggravated battery in a public place and attempted criminal sexual assault by the use or threat of force.

CTA surveillance video showed Burnette leaving the L train after the woman got off the train at the Lake Street station, prosecutors said Saturday. They said the woman’s screams cause Burnette to run off.
