University of Chicago police dragged four protesters seeking a new trauma center off a construction site Monday near 56th and Cottage Grove.
None of the four appeared to be under arrest as of Monday afternoon. They all walked free after police dragged them off the site, but one was purportedly taken to a hospital for injuries.
The protest took place where crews are building a parking garage beside the University of Chicago’s $700 million Center for Care and Discovery.
The University of Chicago has pointed out it already offers the only burn unit and trauma center for children on the South Side.
