Do Preckwinkle and Rahm get along? Silence is deafening

Updated: May 14, 2014 1:54PM

In this “My Chicago” video, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle talks about a recent meeting she’s had with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Preckwinkle, of course, is often held up as Emanuel’s biggest reelection threat, should she decide to make a run against him.

“It was a pretty policy-driven, pithy conversation,” the Democratic board president says in this ride-along interview with Mark Bazer. Bazer hosts the new WTTW series, which holds a similar premise as Charlie Stone’s “Morning Commute” where notables are interviewed — and filmed — from the inside of a car.

Preckwinkle was asked a pretty basic follow-up about whether she and Emanuel get along.

Watch the uncomfortable silence.
