MONTGOMERY – Six people were shot at an Easter party early Sunday in west suburban Montgomery.
About 12:40 a.m., a gunman got out of an SUV and began shooting into a garage where the group was gathered, Montgomery Police Chief Dan Meyers said in an emailed statement.
Four men and two women, all between the ages of 20 and 30, were wounded. Five of the injured were taken by ambulance to two hospitals in Aurora, authorities said. A sixth was taken to the hospital by a friend.
Details, including the motive for the shooting weren’t available Sunday. Authorities are seeking the shooter, who had at least one to two handguns, as well as a gold SUV that may be tied to the crime.
Montgomery police tapped the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force to help work the case.
