A Logan Square man is accused of repeatedly slamming his 72-year-old mother’s head into a sidewalk as she tried to take away his keys because he was drunk, Cook County prosecutors said Saturday.

They said Jesus Quinones Jr.’s mother was trying to stop him from driving drunk.

The 30-year-old man punched her in the face, then grabbed her by the arms and shoulders and slammed her head into the sidewalk again and again, prosecutors said

A neighbor saw and heard the attack, which happened around 2:45 a.m. Friday, and called the police.

They found the woman bleeding from the face and had her take to St. Mary Medical Center to be treated.

They found Quinones in the back yard and charged him with aggravated battery. On Saturday, Cook County Judge Laura Sullivan ordered Quinones held on $250,000 bail.
