He’s a middle-aged Chicago man with a girlfriend half his age. ... But did he also sleep with her mother?

That shocking story now cannot be exposed.

The day before they were set to appear on The Maury Show in Connecticut, John Coley, 46, and Shantae Shavonne McGhee-Brown, 25, also from Chicago, allegedly got into a heated argument at a Norwalk, Conn., hotel where they were staying, police said.

Coley and McGhee-Brown were both arrested April 1 on a range of misdemeanor charges, including disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, police said.

The couple’s tawdry tale was supposed to unfold in front of Povich and a live studio audience, but it appears the couple couldn’t wait.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of an argument at the DoubleTree hotel in Norwalk, police said. Officers arrived to find McGhee-Brown wrapped in a towel near the third-floor elevator, police said. Beside her lay a broken vase and a damaged table, police said.

Coley wasn’t there, but he arrived later, police said.

The fight began because McGhee-Brown was “so upset over her finding out her boyfriend was sleeping with her mother,” according to a police report. She told police they were scheduled to appear on Povich’s show Wednesday morning.

Neither Coley nor McGhee-Brown could be reached for comment.

A representative reached at the The Maury Show said the couple didn’t appear on the show and are unlikely to in the future.
