If someone sidles up to you, offering a certain French-designed T-shirt for $250 or a black leather motorcycle jacket for a couple of grand — you’re getting a steal.
And they’re probably stolen.
Armed with at least one baseball bat, burglars shattered the window at the super-swanky Saint Laurent Paris store at 11 E. Walton early Friday, police said. Late Friday morning, detectives were still on the scene.
The burglars made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars in merchandise. Of course, when a pair of “strawberry and black babycat” canvas sneakers retails for $395, the dollar amount racks up pretty quickly.
If there were any in stock at the time, the thieves could have hidden their faces in a Saint Laurent hooded sweat shirt — $1,995 apiece. Police on the scene said a “one of a kind” purse was taken in the burglary.
Police had no one in custody.
Store personnel declined comment.
