Updated: April 4, 2014 9:41AM

Burglars may have taken several hundred thousand dollars worth of merchandise from a Gold Coast luxury retail store early Friday morning.
About 2:50 a.m., police responded to a break-in at the Saint Laurent Paris store at 11 E. Walton St., police said.
Police on the scene said the store’s display window had been broken with a baseball bat, and that multiple offenders were involved. The value of items stolen is estimated to be several hundred thousand dollars, police said.
Police on the scene said a “one of a kind” purse was taken in the burglary. The store’s alarm did go off and that security footage was recovered.
No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
