A two-vehicle crash Monday morning has left one woman dead and shut down three lanes on the southbound Dan Ryan Expy.
The crash involved a dump truck and Chevy Malibu about 6:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 94 near 89th Street, authorities said.
The Malibu collided with the median, hit the dump truck and then flipped over, fire officials said. The woman - whose age was not immediately known - was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford.
Three lanes were closed as a result of the crash, according to the Illinois State Police.
The crash happened alongside CTA Red Line tracks, and debris made its way onto the tracks, the CTA said, delaying some trains.
