With bitter cold on the way, Chicago school officials said Saturday schools will be open Monday for the first day back after winter break.
They said they’ll leave it to parents to use “their own discretion” in deciding whether to send their kids to school.
School officials said they plan to make sure boilers are turned on Sunday to prepare for the return of students.
They salso said that Chicago schools will have recess indoors on Monday and that students will be kept inside their schools after classes until their ride arrives.
All athletic events are set to go ahead as planned.
