A Hazel Crest man who’s accused of stealing more than $88,000 worth of cellphones and other merchandise in the holdup of a Mount Prospect Sprint store was arrested by police who used the GPS from an iPad that was among the stolen loot, Cook County prosecutors said Saturday.
They said Marvin L. Jones Jr. was tracked by the iPad’s GPS to the Cook County courthouse in Markham, where he was arrested Saturday when he showed up for an unrelated court hearing.
Prosecutors said a handgun-toting Jones, 25, and another man had held up the Sprint store in the 900 block of East Rand Road on Tuesday, ordering three people there into a bathroom and taking 134 cellphones and 46 Apple products worth a total of $88,400.
The second man is still being sought.
