1. Which team in the NFL looks the best heading into the final month?

Denver and Kansas City are good teams. New England is a good team. Seattle is the team, though, if they get home field, they’re going to be tough to beat. I don’t know what their suspensions are going to be, and that could hurt their defense, but they play very well at home. But I also wouldn’t put it past Denver.

2. Which team in the NFC North do you think will emerge?

Detroit has a great offense, no doubt about it. They turned the ball over three times [against the Packers] and scored 40 points. They have a good receiver, good quarterback, and they can run the football. Their defense can rise up and hurt you. They look like the favorite. Green Bay is not very good right now. Even if they get Aaron Rodgers back, they have to play better on the offensive line. The Bears are right there. It’s there’s for the taking. They know what they have to do — they have to win.

3. The Bears’ defense is on pace to potentially set records for points allowed and rushing yards allowed. Did you ever envision a Bears team with such a porous defense?

No, I never envisioned it. But what makes it really hard [is] it puts pressure on the offense. Because now they’re trying to do things that they normally don’t have to do. They have to score points because the defense isn’t playing well.

4. Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd dropped a drink on the court to get his team a timeout. Did you ever pull a stunt like that?

I wasn’t smart enough to do something like that. My mind didn’t work fast enough.
