14 hurt in weekend shootings across Chicago

Fourteen people have been wounded in shootings across the city of Chicago since Friday afternoon.

The latest happened in Albany Park around 10 p.m. Saturday when a man in his 20s was shot in a leg in the 4700 block of North Sacramento Avenue. He was treated at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

In the other shootings:

◆ Around 7:15 p.m. Saturday, a 19-year-old man was shot in the back as he stood outside near South Morgan and West 70th streets in Englewood. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

◆ Around 3 p.m. Saturday in North Lawndale, a 39-year-old man was shot by someone he was arguing with in the 1600 block of South Karlov Avenue, according to the police, who said the wounded man took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition.

◆ A 44-year-old man was was shot in the butt around 7:30 a.m. Saturday as he left a garage in an alley in the 2300 block of North Mango Avenue in Belmont Cragin on the city’s Northwest Side. He was in good condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

◆ A 19-year-old man was shot in the butt as he sat in a van around 3 a.m. Saturday in the 8400 block of South Burnham Avenue in South Chicago. He was treated at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

◆ A 21-year-old man was shot in a foot around 12:20 a.m. Saturday as he stood outside with his girlfriend in the 4800 block of West Monroe Street in Austin. He was treated at Stroger Hospital.

◆ A little after 11 p.m. Friday, four people were wounded in a drive-by shooting as they stood on a sidewalk in the 6000 block of South Indiana Avenue in Washington Park, police said. A 22-year-old man was shot in his left calf and back and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said. A 16-year-old boy, shot in the right thigh, and an 18-year-old man, shot in a hand, were taken to be treated at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. And a 21-year-old man, hit in the left leg, was treated at St. Bernard Hospital, police said.

◆ Just after 10 p.m. Friday, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the butt and a shoulder by someone who walked up and fired at him as he crossed the street in the 1600 block of East 71st Street. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

◆ About 8:30 p.m. Friday, a woman was wounded when someone shot at a car full of people in Chatham. The 20-year-old woman and three others were sitting in the parked vehicle in the 7500 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue when someone came out of a gangway and opened fire, police said. The woman was treated at Stroger Hospital for a gunshot wound to a hand and a graze wound to the cheek, police said.

◆ Around 6:30 p.m. Friday, an 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were shot as in the street in the 4100 block of West 24th Place. The boy was shot in a leg, and the man was shot in the chest and both legs, police said. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
