Ex-Illinois GOP Chair Pat Brady tells the Chicago Sun-Times he was hired by the ACLU to lobby state lawmakers on passing same-sex marriage — the very issue that got him pushed out of his position last year.
“I have been hired by them,” Brady told the Sun-Times. Will he be lobbying state lawmakers? “Yeah, that’s what they hired me for.”
Brady said an advocacy message is what he’s pushing for.
“Illinois is one of the top priority states, urgency-wise.” I’m working for them at their direction. I’m concentrating on Republicans and like-minded people. I’m excited to work with this group. It’s a great organization. I think it’s going to get done this time, I’m really excited about it.”
“I think there’s a chance in the veto session. From my understanding they think there’s a chance in the veto session.”
