An 18-year-old Carpentersville man was arrested for refusing to pay a $175 taxi fare, then throwing a cup of bleach into the cab driver’s eyes, authorities said Saturday.

Oliver Dickens was ordered held Saturday on $125,000 bail, charged with aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and theft of labor in the incident Thursday.

The victim, a 34-year-old man from Dundee, suffered burning and irritation of his eyes and skin but didn’t require hospitalization, Cook County prosecutors said.
