Men attack woman, 93, walking to church in Mount Prospect: police

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information on two men who attacked and robbed a 93-year-old woman as she walked to her northwest suburban church on Sunday.

The elderly victim told police she was walking to the Church of the Nazarene in Mount Prospect about 6 a.m. Sunday when she was struck from behind and knocked to the ground by two men, according to a statement from Mount Prospect police.

The suspects then took her purse and ranoff, police said. The victim, a Mount Prospect resident, was treated at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights for a wrist injury.

Police are asking any witnesses of anyone with information to call the department at (847) 870-5656, or make anonymous tips to Mount Prospect Crime Stoppers at (847) 590-7867.

Crime Stoppers tipsters are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to a conviction.
