A 21-year-old Aurora woman has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to undergo counseling after being convicted of stealing a puppy last fall from a Naperville pet store.
Brandie M. Walker pleaded guilty to a felony theft charge for taking a French bulldog puppy named Fiona from a Petland store at 720 S. Route 59 last Nov. 2 and walking out with it hidden in her hoodie, authorities said.
The dog, which was quickly recovered puppy, was valued at $2,800. Walker was arrested after someone recognized her from surveillance videotape images posted on the pet store’s website.
