A limousine driver was charged with DUI Saturday, accused of driving drunk when he took 23 teenagers in a party bus to the Oswego East High School prom at Abbington Banquets in an unincorporated area near Glen Ellyn.

Richard L. Madison, 54, of Palos Hills, was arrested when the prom-goers, alarmed by his driving, called their parents, and two off-duty police officers providing security for the prom were alerted, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

Madison was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and also with reckless conduct and was being held at the DuPage County Jail.
