Good news: Parking will be free on Sundays, with one exception.
Bad news: The exception: No free Sundays in the area bordered by Roosevelt to the south, North Avenue to the north, Halsted to the west and the lake to the east.
Good news: You can pay for parking with your cellphone by the summer of 2014.
Bad news: There’s a .35 convenience fee for less than two hours at a time.
Good news: If you park on a residential street where meters run to 6 p.m., there will be no extended meter hours.
Bad news: If you park in River North or Streeterville, metered parking is extended from 9 p.m. to midnight and from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. everywhere else, Monday through Saturday.
