Two people were killed and at least 11 people were injured in violence across the city this weekend.

A teenager was fatally shot and a man was stabbed to death in separate incidents on Sunday.

The 14-year-old boy was shot in his chest in a drive-by shooting about 4:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Leavitt on the West Side, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss said. The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 4:56 p.m., authorities said. Police on the scene radioed a description of the gunman’s vehicle and officers nearby found a vehicle matching the description. Three males were taken into custody, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. A weapon was recovered. Police said the suspects and the victim were documented gang members. The victim’s identity was not being released Sunday evening pending notification of relatives, a Cook County Medical Examiner’s office spokesman said.

On Sunday night, a 27-year-old man was stabbed to death in a domestic incident in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood, police said. The attack happened about 8:40 p.m. in the 4000 block of South Wabash, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The man suffered multiple stab wounds in his leg and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he died, Alfaro said. A woman was in custody but no charges had been filed as of early Monday, police said.
