The Chicago Police officer found dead in an apparent suicide was under investigation for allegations of sexual misconduct, police sources said.
The 48-year-old man died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. The man was found about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in his apartment in the 100 block of West 129th Place, Mirabelli said.
The investigation into sexual misconduct allegations was still in its early stages, sources said.
Neither the victim’s name, nor additional details, were being released by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
